HOME OWNERSHIP SHOULD BE

IMPORTANT TO YOU

If you have ever thought about buying a home, now is the perfect time to do so. Interest rates remain very low, and as part of the government’s economic stimulus package, first-time home buyers are being offered a direct tax credit of up to $8,000, depending upon the price of the home you purchase. Imagine getting a large tax refund next year AND owning a home for the first time! The home you purchase must be your principal residence. In addition, if you have not owned a home for at least three years, you may be considered a "first-time" home buyer.

Along with the privilege of home ownership comes responsibility. Although it is more difficult to qualify for a home loan than it was a couple of years ago (with the on-set of the recent mortgage banking problems), there are still many loan programs available for those home buyers who have maintained a decent credit rating. We will be glad to discuss the various loans which are available in our area.

A serious shortage in our area mandates a close look at home ownership by anyone who is remotely interested in purchasing a home. Ask yourself the question, "if I lost my rental home today, where would I live?" "Could I find another place to live?" "Where would I go?" This is an everyday occurrence in our area. Unfortunately, the possibility is very real that another acceptable rental home will not be available. Home ownership is the answer and it may be possible for you!

We have many retirees who have relocated to our area in the last few years. They all discuss the unbelievably low housing prices here versus the large metropolitan areas they are moving from. They all express with regret the fact that many of their children who still live in these metropolitan areas will never be able to experience the joy of home ownership due to inflated housing prices in those areas. We are very fortunate to live in an area which still has affordable housing. These are just a few of the reasons home ownership should be important to you. Let us tell you more.
